Donatella and Trifon - A Beach Wedding in Westcliff

What a gorgeous September afternoon for Donatella and Trifon to create some special beach photos of their wedding. Westcliff in Essex has a beautiful expanse of sand and shingle and the scenery is beautiful with the sail boats in the distance. After a few family and friend photos we headed along the beach taking advantage of the late evening sunshine.

It was a pleasure to meet Trifon and Donatella who's roots were in Sicily - and their fantastic and very welcoming family and friends, many from all over Europe.

We ended up in the Italian Flying Pasta located across the road and in an elevated position for beautiful panoramic views of the coastline. As the sun set I captured a few images with the colours fading in the sky. As an added bonus I was then invited to join them for dinner - and what a treat, the food was simply spectacular. Thank you Donatella and Trifon, it was such a pleasure.

The Groom ~ Why I took this picture

Not long to go until the ceremony, a good time to get the groom Ross and groomsmen together at the venue - The Rayleigh club which has some beautiful grounds in the Essex countryside.
Then it was candid photos as a swift half was ordered and the groom started to welcome the guests as they arrived. To create the focus point the groomsmen are in black and white and the groom retains colour and is the only person looking directly at the camera. The wedding was a fabulous day and Ross and Tammys family and friends were amazing.

Its hard being a dog ~ Why I like this image

Just one job, but a big one - especially for a dog. Danielle and Pete chose their pretty little Amy to do the honours at The Cliffs Pavilion and she certainly did, without a hitch. Maybe a few licks to many but who's counting. It's nice to do something a little different with wedding photography and this was one of those times.

There wasn't a bark, whimper or whine as Amy done an impeccable job

The Bride & Groom ~ Sunset Kiss

There will often be a chance to shoot something a little different - and if the sun is out in the evening we can get a little creative. Steve and Julies wedding at Reids in Billericay, Essex was one such occasion. The silhouette can leave a little heart shape between the couple and with a touch of sun burst there's a cool image.

I first met Steve many moons ago at school and had lost touch before meeting up again at a school re-union. Then by chance I met them again at a birthday function I was photographing and Julie booked me shortly after. So it was such a pleasure to be be their fun filled special day and I wish them all the happiness they deserve.

As soon as there's a little free time the kids will be looking for some play time at weddings. Just like this one at Leez Priory just after the meal in the gorgeous evening light.

I'll find myself hunting out the kids at this time to see what fun or mischief they're up to and fire away as they happily play. A few lawn games always help - here the kids couldn't wait to get hold of the croquet set.
